It has been said that being in shape is more important to women than their relationship.
While many would assume that raising a child is enough to keep any parent preoccupied a new study has revealed that body image is the main concern for new mothers.
The pressure to snap back into shape topped the list of worries of new mothers questioned, with 52 per cent admitting it was a concern, topping any worries they have over their relationship or career.
Experts believe the obsession has been fuelled by the growing number of celebrities who flaunt a perfect post-baby body just weeks after giving birth. However, only one in five mothers-to-be regularly worked out before giving birth.
