How to use Coconut Oil for stronger Nails and Healthy Cuticles
If you are a nail biter, you probably have a habit of biting your cuticles too. Some do not bite nails but do bite cuticles that can cause them to bleed and weaken your nails since they are directly connected to nail bed. Also, cuticles peel due to dryness and when you don’t regularly moisturize it. Dry and damaged cuticles can be quite painful and look unsightly. There are cuticle oils that can be used on cuticles to keep them soft and moisturized. Cuticle oils are something you can easily make at home yourself using simple ingredients! Below is how you can make cuticle oil using coconut oil:
- Coconut oil moisturizes your cuticles and also heal already peeled cuticle.
- Coconut oil makes your cuticles healthy and less prone to dryness and peeling.
- Coconut oil is great for treating brittle and cracked nails and also damaged cuticles since its adds a boost of moisture that prevents them from breaking and heals cuticles.
- It also strengthens nail bed and nails and stimulates their growth.
Overnight treatment- Warm some coconut oil in a bowl and use it to massage your nails, hands and cuticles. Wear gloves before bedtime and wash your hands in the morning.
Hand soak: In a bowl full of warm water, add some coconut oil and hemp oil and soak your hands in it until the water comes to room temperature. Wash hands and moisturize. If you have cuticle pushes, you can use that too to remove excess cuticles.
Topical application: You can also apply coconut oil on your cuticles throughout the day if you have very dry and peeling cuticles.
